Highbury Area Guide
Highbury is nestled between Islington and Finsbury Park, which has one of the biggest parks in Islington called Highbury Fields. It is known for having a thriving café scene and community and popular restaurants and bars. You will find the French language being spoken frequently around Islington itself as the Eurostar terminal is located on the Islington border at St Pancreas Station. If you like football then you’re in luck as Arsenal F.C calls Highbury home with their Emirates Stadium located on Ashburton Grove. They moved there in 2006 with the old stadium converted into a luxury housing complex named Highbury Square. Emirates Stadium is not just known for its highly successful football club, it is also hosts world class concerts there.
Highbury is popular with young professionals as it is so close to the city centre, just a 30 minute walk away and young families as the properties are so varied that there is something there to suit everyone. If you are after a more traditional route, gorgeous family homes on pretty garden squares, classic Georgian terraced houses and large early Victorian villas can be found in Highbury. If you after something a bit more modern, Highbury will cater to that too with new build apartments available.
You will never be far from public transport as there are plenty of buses to get you around London and everywhere in-between. Highbury is in zone 2 and has 2 Underground Stations. Highbury & Islington on the Victoria line and Angel on the Northern line. Mainline rail services are available at the following train stations: Finsbury Park, Drayton Park, Highbury & Islington and Essex Road.
